SSR, also known as surgical sperm retrieval, is a reproductive procedure that aids men whose ejaculates are empty of sperm.

The two testicles located at the base of the penis are where the sperm is created. The sperm exit the testicles through a coil-shaped tube known as the epididymis, and they remain there until they are ready to be utilized. Another tube connecting each epididymis to the prostate is the vas deferens.

The seminal vesicle is connected to the vas deferens, which extend from the scrotum into the groin (together forming the ejaculatory duct). When it’s time to ejaculate, the sperm travels via the ejaculatory ducts, where it combines with the fluids from the seminal vesicles, prostate, and other glands to produce the semen, and then it travels down the urethra to emerge out the end of the penis. However, there may be a barrier that stops the sperm from releasing because of some damage, genetic abnormalities, or infection.

Most of them are not:

  • Men lacking the vas deferens are born without them due to congenital vas deferens absence. As a result, the sperm cannot drain from the testicle into a medium.
  • Vasectomy is a surgical operation used to sterilize men or provide them with long-term birth control.
  • Non-obstructive azoospermia is a condition in which the testes produce sperm that is less concentrated and does not go to the vas deferens.

Surgical Sperm Retrieval can be used to treat such instances (SSR).

ICSI

The head of the sperm must cohere to the outside of the egg before it may fertilize a woman’s egg. After the sperm gets attached, the sperm pushes to the interior of the egg where fertilization takes place.

The sperm occasionally fails to pierce the outer layer for a variety of causes. The sperm might not be able to swim either due to the egg’s thick outer layer or penetrate. In many cases, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, often known as ICSI, could be used in combination with In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to help in fertilizing the egg.

Using specialized micromanipulation tools, equipment, and inverted microscopes, embryologists can choose and collect individual sperm in a specially made ICSI needle during IVF with ICSI.

The sperm is injected into the inside (cytoplasm) of the egg after the needle has carefully advanced through the egg membrane and outer shell.

The sperm is injected into the inside (cytoplasm) of the egg after the needle has carefully advanced through the egg membrane and outer shell.

To acquire several eggs for ICSI and in vitro fertilization, the woman must first be stimulated with medication and undergo an egg retrieval process.

The “standard of care” in this field of medicine does not, however, specify which situations call for the ICSI procedure and which do not.

It is used in certain clinics in every situation, whereas in others it is only used in extreme situations of male factor infertility. Between these two extremes, around half of all IVF clinics fall.

We now execute more ICSI operations than we did six to seven years ago, reflecting our evolving attitudes on the method (as a percentage of all cases). We will develop our concepts as we learn more about methods for helping couples conceive.

Anyone can experience infertility, but thankfully, our doctors can assist you in exploring the options so you can realize your goal.

IVF

In Vitro Fertilisation is a kind of Assistive Reproductive Technology(ART) that will help with fertility or prevent genetic conditions and assist with the inception of pregnancy.

In this procedure, mature eggs are fertilized by sperm in a lab. Following this, fertilized eggs are transferred to the uterus. It takes about three weeks to complete the whole cycle of IVF. However, sometimes this process might be divided into various steps which results in a longer time duration than usual.

IVF can be done using a couple’s own eggs and sperm or by using sperm, egg or embryos from a known or anonymous donor.

The possibility of delivering a healthy baby through IVF depends on many factors involving your age and the reason for infertility. Plus, IVF might be invasive, time-consuming, and pricey. If more than one fertilized egg is transferred to uterus, can cause pregnancy with multiple fetus.

Thus it is important to have a precise knowledge about IVF, it potential risk and a thorough diagnose to check whether this treatment is right for you or not.

If you are looking for complete diagnose of IVF or want to get consulted, we are here to help you!

IUI

Intrauterine insemination or IUI is a procedure that is used to treat infertility using artificial insemination.

During this procedure, the sperm that are washed and concentrated are placed into the uterus by the time ovary releases one or more eggs to fertilize.

Following this, the sperm are expected to swim into the fallopian tube and fertilize the egg, leading to pregnancy, Depending on the causes of infertility, IUI can be coherent with a normal menstrual cycle or with fertility medicine.

IUi is the best alternate to IVF that can be performed with small medical procedure at lower cost and can be appropriately performed at our hospital.

OVULATION INDUCTION

Ovulation induction is the stimulation of egg development or releases with the help of medication, The aim of this procedure is to help women increase their possibility of getting pregnant either naturally or with the help of IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) or using another fertility treatment.

DNA FRAGMENTATION TEST

Living in a world where a small amount of sperm can result in pregnancy by IVF(In Vitro Fertilisation), selecting healthy sperm is essential. Sperm DNA Fragmentation tends to be higher in infertile men. Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated deoxyuridine triphosphate nick end labeling (TUNEL) and the alkaline comet test are SDF tests that directly measure DNA damage and have shown accurate results.

If the result shows a high level of SDF, then they are advised to decrease SDF through lifestyle changes, antioxidant treatments, and by treating the underlying conditions of patients.

SEMEN ANALYSIS

When any couple is undergoing any infertility issues then sperm analysis is carried out. A semen analysis or sperm count test determines the health and growth of a man’s sperm. Additionally, it is also done for verifying the success of vasectomy.

If the sperm examination result is abnormal, a doctor will usually recommend further testing to help find the reason and prepare the treatment plan on that basis.
